True Riches

True Riches. Someone once told me something…He said Cindy, you have been working for money for a long time now but to this time, you still have not acquired much wealth. I was  quiet and was just gazing at him…to the point somethings kept running in my mind, one of which was, he couldn’t see how much progress the spiritual part of my life is making!.

The place of my work is a place of training. I wasn’t there for the money like he thinks. Physically, i have nothing to show off but spiritually, i am moving from one powerful encounter to another.

The Bible spoke about true riches… thus indicating the existence of false riches. Much of what the world considers as a veil for true poverty. The  Lord appears to be the poorest of the poor yet rich(Mathew 8:29)

In Act 3:6-11
6NIV:Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”

7NIV:Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong.

8NIV:He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.

9NIV:When all the people saw him walking and praising God,

10NIV:they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

This lame man would have been delighted with silver since he was sitted in front of the temple seeking  alms.

But Peter had no silver nor gold…Instead he had what  money could not buy to offer in exchange. His gift for the man was priceless.

Peter had authority, power, glory. He possessed healing power which was not so common, the man woke up that morning not knowing he was going to walk on his two feet for the first time!.

All Peter had was a gift  from Jesus, and only through the help of The Holy Spirit was he able to dispense it.

Peter knew he couldn’t attain it without Jesus because it was Jesus’s healing power not his.So he was anxious for others to understand and have some practical  experiences.

It is natural for us to desire to have sufficient resources in order to avoid poverty. But for too many people,  accumulation of earthly goods and especially personal wealth becomes the main question which has led too many into destruction.

If one were to go through life following this principle, man’s greatest weakness lies in how to live a life totally contented for the little.

The Bible reminds us  that the accumulation of earthly goods and riches is good because without riches, the gospel itself will be stranded but that should not be the primary resources of the Christian Life.
 Matthew 9:19 -21, 33.

19NIV:“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.

20 NIV:But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

21 NIV:For where your treasure is.

It is better to lay up treasures in heaven than on Earth. Yet looking around today, most people see the accumulation of wealth on Earth as Paramount.

33 NIV:But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

When we accumulate our treasures in Heaven, everything become our right. Christ now supplies adequately our needs in accordance to his words.

This scripture summarises our lives… as Christians, if you have the understanding of this scripture there is nothing on Earth that will be worth  yearning for without contributing to God’s kingdom.

The scripture has been the best Revelation i’ve ever had from the time God showed me

Abraham was recorded as the father of wealth, whom the Lord had abundantly blessed in richest and also in faith

Hebrew 11: 8-128 NIV:By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.

9NIV:By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise.

10 NIV:For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.

11NIV:And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise.

12 NIV:And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore.

Proverbs 11: 281NIV:A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.

Abraham with all his riches, if he had no good name he will not have been called The Father of faith. The weight of his sacrifice gave him the authorisation to fill that office perfectly.

That is why the scripture severally states that we must trust God not material wealth.

Trusting only on  wealth  displays a lack of wisdom yet the world is driven by this and the tragedy of wealth is, it gives a false sense of security and life.

Putting one’s trust solely on wealth is lack of wisdom, our best commitment must be to the Lord and to use his wealth in a godly manner.  Wealth alone cannot save a man’s soul, nor help him gain eternal life even though we need it in preaching the gospel to Lost souls but acquiring wealth without understanding, is the fastest route towards destruction.

It has destroyed so many lives in  Bible times and it is still destroying so many, so look around you and examine out of 100 wealthy men you’ve known, you will  notice that 99% of them are already  driven by the world standard.

That is why the Bible emphasizes seeking his kingdom first then any other thing will be added so that our acquired wealth will not lead us into destruction.

The Lord yearns to have wealthy kingdom Giants who will take over this generation… that is why we have to go through severe training because the demand is much more than what we expect and God does not want to give us what  will end up destroying us. That is why he has to take his time to equip us for the task ahead. It’s sad that very few are yeilding to the pruning of the Holy Spirit.

I may not have money or earthly possessions to give you because i know most of my readers must have acquired great possessions already than i, but i have a word for you as you acquire those riches not the kingdom way, it only leads to destruction in as much as we need them, let us be wise in our dealings.  Wealth has destroyed so many already and is still destroying so many… What will it profit you if you gain the whole world and lose your soul think about this.

Jesus is the best true riches you can have and  without him everything you have acquired remains on Earth.  Have you ever seen people who die leaving behind great wealth? all dead leave behind all their possessions for their families.

We now  can clearly see that the riches  of this world is not worth dying for in as much as you need them, they cannot compare to true riches which is eternal life.

It’s left for you to make your decisions… choose between the world or the riches Jesus Christ left for us (Power authority and Glory) Peter made use of it wisely and he got results… you can choose to make use of it or not… the choice is largely yours, remember that he does not live us when we seek him, all other things becomes ours.

He is a rewarder of a diligent seeker. The world was created by him and he has given us dominion overall. All we need to do is seek him deeper and deeper, he yearns to supply all our needs just as he has promised. So that our lives will have a balanced everlasting true riches(Jesus) and also earthly riches.

If you have not received Jesus, please receive him now, say these words with me… Lord Jesus come into my life and be Lord and Savior, I denounce Satan today, I make you king over my life. Take charge and create in me a clean heart from now on. In Jesus name Amen.
