The Heart of Sacrifice. Each time a preacher teaches about sacrifice, the first thing that comes to the mind of the audience is majorly money/ seed sowing. First and foremost, sacrifice is about giving or laying down something valuable. It’s valuability qualifies it to be a sacrifice and the heart must be in connection irrespective of what is given!.
Many people today give a lot of things, and yet are not so generous with a long list of other things like… time, resources and even their gratitude. They give grudgingly as though they are doing God a favour. While some give to be praised by others…the reality remains, there is no sacrifice without an act of giving!. When you give, detach yourself of what you lay down, don’t let your heart still cling to it even though you may have need for it at that time, This act makes you sacrificial. The degree of your ability to lay all down unaffectedly, determines the strength of your sacrifice!.
TYPES OF SACRIFICE:1. Self Purification: This is an act of placing high value on the gift of Jesus by keeping your body, which is the Temple of the Holy Spirit as a living sacrifice wholly and acceptable unto God.
2. Offerings, Tithes And Givings:
BEING SACRIFICIAL MUST:
1. Cost you
2. Cause you pain
3. Empty you of self by causing you to think less of yourself
That is what God wants us to be.
WHAT MATTERS TO GOD IS…
1. The clean state of the heart of the giver
2. The sacrificial propensity of the giver
3. The ability of the giver’s heart to accomplish it’s aim
4. Does the givers heart deserve rewards?
5. Who amongst the givers is the greatest?
The strength of your sacrifice is determined by the weight of your suffering. Most christains in the body of Christ sacrifice with negative motives that is one of the reasons why their sacrifice don’t carry weight in the spirit.
In Bible times, there was no one God used whose heart was not sacrificial and whose heart was not centred at just the service reward irrespective.
From the Bible, you can see that to be a Christian means to be a follower of Christ!. The day you choose to follow Jesus, that day you have choosen to pick up your cross and start living sacrificially in obedience to the Lord. Your desire for flesh begins to die and persecution begins, funny enough when persecutions sets in, it surprises believers which shouldn’t be because we can’t run away from it.
What we should do is to take the conscience and wholly unnatural decisions to rejoice because of the hope that is in Christ. The ability to be convicted that God is in control makes us sacrificial there by, making us get to participate in the sufferings of Christ then he will give us strength to persevere when we prove ourselves worthy.
Jesus died on the cross with passion to redeem us by crucifixion, he committed no sin but yet died for us. (Romans 5,6,7,8)
ABRAHAM (FATHER OF FAITH)
Before Abraham was called the father of faith, he was tested with thesame promise he obtained to see if he would take God at his word (Romans 4 :20) he wavered not in his Faith and his conscience.
In Genesis 22:2,What was he supposed to think about this? none of it made sense… God seemed to be contradicting but yet, Abraham’s faith in God did not waver.
Irrespective of the seemingly impossibility of the situation, he got up in the morning and took Isaac his promised child. it didn’t matter to him what the situation looked like. All he wanted speaking was a heart of sacrifice, that heart makes it impossible for us to teach about sacrifice and not talk about Abraham, his sacrificial heart made him the father of faith.
CONCLUSION…Being sacrificial is having a heart of faith in God. Faith gives us power to act sacrificially thereby, having a heart of faith in God and action without faith is impposible to please God
Jesus and Abraham have laid a firm foundation for us. God does not ask if you are able… he is asking if you are willing and if your answer is yes, there is no limit to what you can accomplish in true and complete faith in God.
My prayer for you is for God to give you a sacrificial heart because he only uses people who are completely sacrificial. If you’re not sacrificial, you remain useless to his kingdom.
Having a sacrificial heart is what you need to be part of the making of Gods kingdom then his blessings follow suit.
