The Garden City. Did You Know? The Bible started in a garden and ended in a garden. Have you ever imagined seeing yourself in a more beautiful place than the place you are before? Those wishes we make when we want a better life. A life full of luxury, full of wealth, prosperity, places with good fortune, name it all. All these are given unto us already. Yes, they are given unto us. To expatiate more on this, I will discuss only two books in the Bible here. That is the first book (Genesis), and the last book (Revelation).
GENESIS is the primeval book in the Bible. The first amongst the 5 Pentateuch books of God’s law. It is the beginning of God’s words, the beginning of creation, the beginning of life, the beginning of existence, the beginning of wisdom, the beginning of the journey to the Paradise Garden, the beginning of everything. Genesis 1-11. The first eleven chapters of Genesis have shown us the starting of everything. A book that is first, to tell us of wrong and right, good and bad, beautiful and ugly. I see Genesis, as the leader and the key to all books.
REVELATION: This is one of the most difficult books in the Bible, written by John with 22 chapters. Revelation is an apocalyptic writing which represents the end of history or end of the world. In this book, we have seen the different symbols which it carries. Like the number 4 which represents the four corners of the earth, the number 7 representing perfection or completeness, the number 12 for the twelve tribes of Israel, the Lamb as the symbol of Jesus, and more.
Revelation both warns and encourages us on the day of the end. I see this book as the finisher and lock of all books. Just as God had said, I am the “alpha and Omega,” “beginning and the end,” “first and the last,” and so it is. God is the starter and finisher of all things, both seen and unforseen. The irreplaceable Almighty. But how do we follow the teachings of these two books and the rest of the books in the Bible; in understanding God’s promises upon us and to succeed our journey into the garden city? How do we see them as the gate to the Father?
The world is a messy place; where we find ourselves offending God every day. Live for a day or two and you must surely be hurt by someone or something. Even when you try to resist yourself from such things or doing wrong; darkness tries its own best to force us out of God’s way, leading us to the wrong path. But with the power of the light, we can overcome all tribulations and obstacles of the devil. From the beginning, God had already showered us with His unmerited Grace by making us inherit the earth, And his grace still sufficiently remains upon us. And when we abide in him, we shall have eternal life.
We shall inherit the kingdom of Heaven and God will give us rest. As Christians, I encourage us to hold unto the things of God, living godly and submitting ourselves unto God. God had sent his Lamb Jesus, the one with perfect knowledge, wisdom, and strength to save the world from sin. For it is through the Lamb, that we shall see God. Obeying God’s commandments lead us to the holy garden city. Revelation 22:14-19A city with no sin, but an infinite life.
We have a better place in Heaven, let us run the race to meet with our Redeemer. Evil things come only to destroy us; for what will be our gain when the world is given unto us but Heaven been taken away from us? My prayers are; that no one is left out of the garden city. A garden that comes in glory!!!
Dear reader, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good.
