GRACE Initiative is a women led organisation operating it activities within the thematic areas of GBV, Nutrition (IYCF), Women Empowerment and WASH. Duly registered with Corporate Affair Commission (CAC) on October 2019 with Reg No: 138203.GRACE
Initiative aims to protect women, girls and children including person with disability. GRACE Initiative program activity is integrated to promote the best interest of people we serve ensuring that on one is left behind. We are recruiting to fill in the position of Nutrition Officer who will be supporting project in Gubio LGA of Borno State.
JOB DISCRIPTION FOR NUTRITION OFFICER

Location: Gubio LGA, Borno state Duration: 6 months
Reporting Line: Program Manager
Role Purpose:
- Management of the Nutrition component of the project which includes, overseeing screening and referral, Tom Brown group and Tom Brown production under the
project.
- Conduct Regular assessments of nutritional needs within field locations and report findings to the program manager
- Take lead of project implementation with high supervision skills across field locations
- Provide technical support and coaching to Nutrition Assistants, CNMs on nutrition best practices.
- Represent in stakeholders’ engagement meetings, sharing fully in GRACE Initiative mission and vision.
- Work with Nutrition assistants and supervise the day-to-day activities at the field
- Provide trainings to community volunteers (CNMS and Lead Mothers) on Nutrition practices
- Monitor and keep track of progress and impact of Nutrition intervention in all field locations.
- Coordinate with other actors (NGOs) in state and LGA for coordination meetings
- Engage with community members to raise awareness about proper nutrition and its importance
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines
- Prepare a well regular (Weekly & monthly) report on the progress and challenges on Nutrition programs
- Provide updates to stakeholders for better communication
- Represent GRACE Initiative in Implementation sites and provide support to the most vulnerable
- Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure integrated programming
- Ensure compliance with GRACE policies and procedures, as well as donor requirements
Experience and technical competencies
- Excellent computer skills and Ability to prepare reports and manage budgets.
- Proficiency level in English and Hausa (written and spoken). Kanuri is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of CMAM and MIYCN component.
- Excellent in team management and conflict resolution
- Good stakeholder engagement and community engagement.
