Great Wives by Cindy Atajan. Great wives are godly wives and they are such a blessing to any man, blessed is he that finds one. A family blessed with a godly mother receives supernatural power from God to continually:
- Live In Love
- Be virtues
As long as she remains Godly. Godly wives strive to live in obedience to scriptural commands for wives.
BIBLICAL COMMAND FOR LOVE.
- FOR MEN: Respect = Love (Ephesians 5:24)
- FOR WOMEN: Love = Respect (Ephesians 5:25-29)
GREAT WIVES WORTH EMULATING:
1. MARY:(THE MOTHER OF JESUS)
Can you think of any woman God would have used other than Mary?. From Luke 1:35-38, Mary was devoted and godly!, just look at how she responded to God when Gabriel spoke to her she responded and said… “Be it unto me according to thy word.”
Mary’s attitude of humility, devotedness and godliness made her a wonder. It made her a woman who deserves the place of Glory as “Mother to Jesus”. Because her body was a conducive dwelling for the Holy Spirit.
Remember that when God called Abraham, Sarah his wife also submitted and left behind all she had ever known too just like Abraham, to an unknown place, an unknown future, commanded by an unknown God. Though she had her own flaws but mum’s sacrificial character made her excellent and worthy of being the mother of generations
Ruth’s humility weakens me!, you see the quality in her throughout the book of Ruth.
Ruth 1:16 reveals her humility and also her willingness to trust God even to the point of meeting Boaz the two qualities still dripped! (Ruth 3:9).
She was also sacrificial, her sacrificial heart made possible the redemption agenda, her humanity and servant hood attitude made her an excellent wife.
Elizabeth is an epitome of endurance… she endured years of barrenness without wavering.
You may ask… But Sarah was barren too for long years, Yes she was, but she didn’t endure as much as Elizabeth had to. Elizabeth was patient enough to wait yet filled with The Holy Spirit.
Priscilla opened up her home to Paul though a stranger, but yet she welcomed him in, as though she knew him as a member of her family. This attitude enabled Paul to preach the gospel to the Corinthians conveniently.
Paul stayed with them for a while, before he finally went to Syria. At some point, he still had to take her with him along with Aquila in Acts 15 :18, indicating he enjoyed her company so much. She wasn’t just a hospitable woman, she was accommodating, a receptionist and also a good learner, Good enough to teach others.
Some of the virtues mentioned in the above five women made them stand out as godly and great wives!.

- They were Sacrificial (motherhood)
- Filled with The Holy Spirit
- Were hospitable
